--- Edit ---
this is the PRE Rosetta encounter mesh and data
it is so old that i have removed the links
see the post farther along in this thread Comet 67P/Churyumov_Gerasimenko
there will be a all in one zip at the end , but for PRACTICE you might want to at least use the telnet HORIZONS interface to grab the
67P/Churyumov_Gerasimenko .xfr spice data
then run xfr2bin on it to make a .bsp
this is another rather simple one , like the two in the preceding posts
Code:
"67p : 67P/Churyumov_Gerasimenko" "Sol"
{
Class "comet"
Mesh "67p.bin.cmod"
# Texture "" # coded into the cmod
Radius 2.455
Albedo 0.2
OrbitFrame { EclipticJ2000 { Center "Sol" }}
Beginning "1900 01 01 00:00:00.000"
Ending "2101 01 01 00:00:00.000"
SpiceOrbit
{
Kernel "Churyumov_Gerasimenko.bsp"
Target "1000012"
Origin "10"
Period 9
BoundingRadius 1e10
}
PrecessingRotation
{
Inclination 10 # random
AscendingNode 5 # random
Period 15 # random
PrecessionPeriod 5.0 # random
}
}
as was posted on
there is a shape file for this comet
very lores for now and WILL improve once Rosetta goes into orbit and fallows it in
for this i am using a "added detail" mesh
a full add on , just drop into the extras folder
The 13.2 MiB zip contains a 10.6 Mib cmod a 3.8 MiB 4k texture
and the raw data used for the cmod
UPDATE there is an updated mesh ( NO!!! texture yet ,only a shape file 3d mesh )
the zip is a 2.7 meg *.obj mesh , it will need converting to cmod for use
