Thanks John.

Compared to NASA's Eyes a pretty good match too.
Hovever the rotationperiod of the spacecraft is far slower.

Also looking to the non-spice Juno addon by FarGetaNik, that rotation period prettywell corresponds to the NASA's Eyes animation and it uses the following RotationPeriod:
Code:
RotationPeriod   0.008333

Who knows? Neither within FarGetaNik pack on ML nor within JVV pack here I found credits. The 3D model should comes from NASA guys, I think. The radar's and body's normalmaps and texture are mine; the radar bumps are made procedurally of two distinct bumps (the "crater" and the "stars"), the crater has been removed of the plain part through magic wand and then overlayed to the "stars". 5px of gaussian blur have been applyed to the fused layer to remove aliases and 10% of radial blur to smudge the straight lines of the "stars"; imported the gray image in Wilbur to make the normalmap. Then another 5px gaussian blur has been applyed to the normalmap in order to remove the granularity. All this design following a screenshot image grabbed from the NASA video. Thats all.

P.S.
of course to the 3D model has been applyed tangents, which does increase the filesize.

but

i just redid the cmod from the juno.blend on nasa's git page
https://github.com/nasa/NASA-3D-Resourc ... odels/Juno

the zip all 8 meg of it - including textures

John:

Thanks for the updated Juno addon. It is great. Your screenshots show Jupiter with an aurora. Please, where can I download the aurora addon?

John: Thanks for the aurora link. It looks great.

I downloaded your Juno addon-complete from this Juno forum topic, but the addon does not appear in 1.6.1. There is no listing of it when I enter the solar system browser or hit the Enter key and type "Juno". I also tried using the ssc file from Limax in the same thread above but it too does not appear as a listing. HELP!

Here is the version I am trying to use (from your addon file)

the above ssc uses SPICE and needs to use the barycenter ssc
and download the bsp and bc files along with the lsk and fk and sclk files

Isn't "eclipJ2000" a typo? It should be "EclipticJ2000".

EDIT LATER
Sorry that's BaseFrame. Anyhow, the Limax setting is workin' for me, while the John's one not. I do not know why, even on my system happens the model is not shown.
