I'd like to be able to use an uploaded Avatar image instead of an off-site URL.
Could that be made possible?

Using an image directly from another web site can often slow the viewing of a page significantly. Also, referencing images that actually are on another site is usually considered "bandwidth theft" and is generally frowned on.

Chris,

Thanks: the entries for uploading avatar images are visible now, and my system disk rattled when I told it to upload the image, but it still doesn't seem to be available. I think you may also need to turn on a feature which displays the avatars that are available in the Forum's avatar library.

Humm... the avatar you want to upload is no more than 80x80px, no more than 60 ko?

If not it won't be taken into account.

Perso I have no problem to upload... Can you try again and tell me if you still stuck?

EDIT: I've just try out with your current avatar @ Shatters, no problem to upload it from my HD...

Strange.

Uploading the original gif from my local system didn't work, but uploading it from my Web site did work. Maybe the file on my system is damaged somehow.

Aha: the web image is 65x65 but the on-disk version is 70x90.

As much as I understand, the Avatar's size is to be bounded by 80x80. 70x90 does not fit in, though...

In the profile, an avatar can't be above of 6ko but the mine is 14ko and I want to use it.

Can you increase (a little ) the max size of an avatar , if possible :?:

I have changed the avatar size since 6k was perhaps a littly tiny. Now it is 18k.
But please keep them as small as you can, the bigger the (many different) avatars, the slower loads the page!
