For some reason I recalled this topic on shatters, and various issues of objectification of women, etc. etc.

Can't for the life of me think why though...

Friends,

given this announcement thread's important title, Do you want an account here? Please read this!,

and also Andrew's reaction to my last "artistic baby joke", I think it would be preferrable
to partly restructure or delete it ;-) .

Any particular suggestions?

Fridger

About your ultimate creation, let's drop off the baby and leave just the background... :D

This topic has become absolutely and completely outrageous.
Much applause. Worth reading again and again just for the "Fun"
factor.

Who would have guessed that the Good Doctor had such a warped
sense of humor? :D

Thanks, Brain-Dead

Delete it...
    (i) There's enough porn sites on the internet already.
(ii) There's always complaints about the lack of women in Celestia related forums, and this would do nothing to encourage them to visit.

Censoring it seems overly prudish to me. If a woman feels otherwise, we should remove it out of courtesy, but any other reason smells of "political correctness" to me when the joke was as innocent as it was...

Sure. That's all that I was thinking as well... out of courtesy. This is not censorship however... as that is something that is imposed on a community.
Fridger asked for opinions, and I gave my (slightly tongue in cheek ) opinion... however it's up to him whether he deletes it, leaves it as is, or "de-emphasizes it in order to have more natural focus on the contents of the posts, and to conform with the custom graphical style of the CM site".

I'm sure nothing "evil" was intended, and in any case it was far from the definition of porn!

Indeed, indeed ;-) . This harmless baby joke that is miles away from porn, of course, was just my personal "test shot" about whether we might sustain a little more "artistic freedom" here than "elsewhere" ...

My daughter (who incidentally holds a PhD in theoretical Cosmology) found my "baby art" simply funny...(after all, she's her father's daughter ;-)) . Certainly, other ladies may well be more "vulnerable"...

My favorite reaction in this thread so far was that of Massimo

PS: I actually removed the word "censoring" in my original post.

Yeah, I'm sure it was only the sight / thought of Fridger breast-feeding that I found somewhat more than slightly disturbing! :o

Ha! Since this whole discussion was sort of started by a British citizen, I got to tell you this one from the time when our daughter was about to be born in Newcastle Upon Tyne / GB

At that time breast-feeding in Britain was THE big fashion and my wife thought she might visit the local "breast-feeding league" one evening to see what good advice these ladies might have in that respect...

Wow... My wife couldn't believe her eyes: seeing these 2+ year olds (with fairly well developed teeth etc) unbuttoning their mother's blouse from time to time for a drink!

Since I am even slightly older than 2+ years, Massimo's suggestion was simply the best! :D

Cheers,
Fridger

In the US they have breast-feeding 8 yr olds...although I don't think it's common. :)

BTW. I am disappointed that this topic has veered onto such mundane matters, when there is still the very serious and outstanding issue of the AVATAR size. Where's the support for 160px avatars people? I don't see your blacked out or diminished avatars.

With your help and support, we can keep this a peaceful revolution. En solidaridad juntos podemos liberar a los avatares!
I'm sure no-one wants to see the struggle deteriorate into bloodshed and violence....
