Using microlensing to measure the mass of the nearest star to our solar system...
Zurlo et al. "The gravitational mass of Proxima Centauri measured with SPHERE from a microlensing event"
The measurement puts the mass at 0.150 solar masses with an error of around 40%. This is consistent with previous mass determinations, e.g. the one used in the discovery paper for the planet Proxima b which used a figure of 0.1221±0.0022 solar masses.

The lensing method looks quite contrived, but it should work.
