I know this sounds like a newbie question... I feel I am these days.
Recently got a new mac running Yosemite... now my ssc edits won't show... I'm guessing it's a plaintext/rtf thing going on.
The Textedit preferences has me scratching my head... I'm very out of practice.
Can any of you kind fellows point me in the right direction?
Such problems often are caused by "smart quotes" (open quote, close quote, "..." as a single character, etc). Many Mac editors like to "help" by inserting them instead of their simplistic ASCII equivalents. I'm not a Mac person, though, so I can't suggest what settings might be appropriate in Textedit.

Here's a page which suggests fixes for Mavericks. I dunno if they'll fix the problem for you. I was [s]amused[/s] annoyed to see that whatever web editor the author used replaced his apostrophe by a quote. I've noticed that a
lot lately.
