Yes, if Explorer doesn´t work, you have to use something else, and Firefox is an exellent choice.

This is both an issue of poor web design and a poor browser. Why not install FF? You are guaranteed to be pleasantly surprised. Here it is, in italian:

Thank you, Runar, I know that address, about one year ago I tried both FF and Opera, but then I returned to Explorer, that I know well and I'm used to.
Anyhow tonight I'll install FF 3.0.1 and will try to download the pdf files.
I'll inform tomorrow on results.
BTW, what addons do you suggest me to install in FF? 8)
What do you use?
Bye and thank you.

I don´t have any - i use all the different browsers, since my job demands quality-checking the websites i make, so the add-ons, though i test some, never live long on my system.

But Fridger swears by DownThemAll, to speed up / handle large file downloads. I have tried it, and it is quite useful.

Just FYI, I use FlashGot and No Script...
FlashGot enables me to use various other tools, and NoScript gives me the opportunity to block JavaScript functions from
selected web sites. Sometimes valuable.

Hello friends, I installed Firefox, and it worked very well, so tonight I downloaded a lot of documents.
Thanks a lot for FF suggestion.
Among those documents I found not so many interesting details (at least for our needs) but up to now nothing of what Chris is asking for.
Anyway, here some new images.

Here ALL the antennae around the IU, and their positioning:

Image

Image

This is the IU umbilical plate image, with an interesting note about its covering by the IU plate door:

Image

In this S-IVB AFT section finally we can see one ullage motor:

Image

and here two VERY detailed drawings of the ullages:

Image

Image

The full-res images are contained in this .zip file:
http://nho.ohn.free.fr/celestia/Andrea/SATURN_NEW_IMAGES.rar
The ullage drawings are much more detailed than the previous ones.

But this morning I found a problem: when I try to open the page at Mike given address here
[b]http://agentdc.uah.edu/agent/zsearch.aspx?myses=9660&w=a&k=&cuid=uahdc&cusrvr=agentserv02

I receive the PWD request, and not having it I cannot enter.
You have the same problem?
Runar, Chris, can you please check it?
If this happens to you too, Chris, please, ask Mike to apply once again his password or what else.

Bye soon

Andrea :D

Andrea, go here:
http://agentdc.uah.edu/WelcomePages/SplashPage1.aspx?cid=uahdc&targetLibPK=6014&lid=USSRC

and quick search for "saturn ib vehicle handbook". You will access again the page you want.

I have some trouble with the stuff about the umbilical plate... A door is supposed to close the stuff at take off? I never saw any system with a door that could do that... :?

I will search for images taken from the tower during take-off.
May be we'll find something, I hope.
Bye

Just FYI, I just finished downloading 71 .pdf files, for a total 0f 767 MB, and a zillion pages.
I think I will need a lot of time to look at all them, so please be patient, Chris.

Regarding your request for Lox propulsive vent (1) and Lox non propulsive vents (4), I found these images from Mike that show vents and other stuff, but NOTHING about LOX vents.
Give a look, if you can use them, I’ll upload the zip file in your FTP.

A view of aft umbilical, between Position I and Position II, 73 degrees from Position I:

The forward umbilical, between Position I and Position II, about 56 deg 40 min away from Position I:

Forward end of S-IVB with the white umbilical peeking through the support beams:

Walk-around of GH2 vent:

Forward umbilical:

Aft umbilical (aft end of stage is to left of picture):

Perhaps a non-propulsive vent:

Perhaps a non-propulsive vent:

As usual all the above images (heavily edited by me) are copyrighted to Michael Jetzer (non commercial use).

Dunno if this is even in relationship with your request, sorry.
Please info.
Bye

Andrea, have a look page 10 of this thread to the T. Muto model; you can see where are located the LOX vents.

Concerning the above images from Mike, don't worry I have already integrated all these details!

BTW, the GH2 vent above is not from a SaturnV but it's the same as the one taped in the above shots of the forward umbilical.

The images details are not mine, are from Mike's readme file, so I didn't check them if real or wrong, sorry.

Andrea, it's not a comment of mine but Mike's own comment. If you take the time to read the well documented read me he wrote to describe the images, you will find the description.
I just wanted things to be clear for our readers because such vent alone won't appear on the SaturnV... :?
