Runar,

Evidently you are using a Mac-specific version of Zip which is hiding things from you.

Here's the output on my PC using the version of unzip which comes with Cygwin:

As Selden points out, If you unzip or view it on a Mac, yes the resource forks are being hidden transparently by the system. Windows doesn't however translate ._ files into resource forks on the fly, hence the proliferation of hidden files..

I use DropStuff.
But as you wrote this, i did look at the unzipped directory via the terminal, and it simply does not contain more than that single invisible file, the .DS_store. If i can see that one, i should see any others, too...

Are you sure the extras are not generated by your unzip utility?
They seem to be clones of the files that _should_ be there.

Sorry, they are not being created by my system. You can verify that the size of the zip archive is larger than it "should" be by adding up the sizes of the individual compressed files. I don't know to what extremes MacOS goes to make it seem that the resource forks are part of the same file, though. Mac Zip programs probably conflate the two types of files during presentation so that you'll see the individual sizes reported as the sum of the two.

You might try to get access to a Unix system to see what its version of Zip reports. Solaris running on the Sun proprietary hardware architecture would be one type of "neutral observer", for example. Or even VAX/VMS, although HP is working hard to eliminate it...

p.s. I just realized that you said that you looked at the restored directory. That's too late: MacOS has already sequestered the resource forks. You have to list the actual contents of the zip file.

From what I have seen is very, VERY nice Runar. I have problems running the scripts, but I have no problems viewing the details of the worlds, moons, places, etc...

You aren't getting paid enough my friend. Hmm... Come to think of it, none of us are... :lol:
