-- this is the old mesh from 2010

Code:
ESOC_SBG_FILE_VERSION = 1.0
CREATION_DATE        = 2010-01-14T10:00:00
VERSION_NUMBER       = 1
OBJECT_NAME          = CHURYUMOV GERASIMENKO

with Rosetta waking up today .It is time to have a look at comet 67p ( aka "Churyumov-Gerasimenko")
there is a cspice naif shape file ( mind you it is in the NEW spice 65 ( not yet released format )
ftp://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/generi ... rasimenko/

however there is a ? almost? wavefront .obj file
ftp://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/generi ... put_files/
it is in that text file

now there is a bit of testing code that can extract a "plate" shape file from the 3d new format
( in the 65 BETA -testing code)

it max's out at 1ppd though but for this that is even too big
-- a 90x45 px image in radians (Km) 90 north to 90 south X 0 to 360
Image

and the .obj file ( rotated to match the above plate file )
Image Image

this will soon be in the spice section .But for now

Added "noise" detail
