--- a bit of a better fit here than in the spice section ---

I tend to add synthetic detail to lores meshes and to "clean up " meshes and maps
so ......

This will be a collection of the ORIGINAL "Shape Models" used in the spice section ,IF a REAL shape file is available .
Mostly original -- most of the tab files are at 5 degrees ( 73x37 points) i use 90x46 , it is easier to import into blender .
Reoriented to :
Code:
---90 north---
-180 - 0 - 180
---90 south---

all of them are in wavefront *.obj format ,and UV mapped to spherical projection ( some WILL need to be cubemapped!!)

From : "EAR_A_5_DDR_SHAPE_MODELS_V2_1"

i will not be posting ALL of these
Vesta has a newer file and so dose Deimos and Phobos

243 Ida mesh from :243ida.tab

Image Image Image Image
243ida.tar.gz 1.4 meg ( contains a 2k map )
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6ZYAd ... sp=sharing

253mathilde mesh from : 253mathilde.tab

this one i had to inpaint FIRST before importing it into blender
-- one look at the DEM will tell you why

the Original dem strait from the tab file
Image
after "inpainting " it
Image

the mesh in Blender
Image Image Image
also included a 1k texture that came with the tab file blended with the DEM

253mathilde.tar.gz - 839 Kb
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6ZYAd ... sp=sharing

951gaspra mesh from : 951gaspra.tab

Image Image Image Image

the 1k texture included is from the 3600x1800 map in "MULTI_SA_MULTI_6_STOOKEMAPS_V2_0.zip"
then blended on top of the DEM

951gaspra.tar.gz -- 835.4 Kb

they are only mostly unedited imports
most of the *.tab files are in 5 degrees or 3 degrees
this makes a DEM of size 73 x 37 px. ( 0.2 ppg ) or 121x61 ( 0.33 ppd)

i bump that to 90 x 46( 0.25 ppd)[ or 180x91 for the 3 deg.] to make it easier to import the simple cylindrical; image into Blender

then remesh them to remove the "polar pinch"
and UV map -180 to +180

the .obj files are not optimized in any way
they are just the" mostly" original unedited data
