I did not feel like really doing anything with meshes and blender
And with the news of Kepler 186 / F

Just some fun

-- 1k copies of the 8k maps
Image Image Image Image

1) The planet ( low O2 high CO2 iron rich non reducing oceans ) -- No red Fe2O3 yet
2) a 8 bit copy of the 32bit float DEM
3) The "snow and ice mask
4) The water mask ( oceans & lakes & rivers )

there is really NO data other than it might be tidily locked or not or it might take months for one day , or not ?????
it ?? might or might not have water????
it IS near the outer region for liquid water ( like mars)
it might have a magnetic field like earth, or NOT ( like mars)
it might have a thin atmosphere like earth and mars -- OR NOT and be thick like Venus .

tentatively thinking of this for the Clouds
-- A bit like Venus but thinner

Wow, sir, that's an awesome work. Surely a lot of fun. That's much more serious than a simple "grin or giggle". (At least I think so, I haven't be working on texture stuff for a long time since that real grin: Historical Earth...)

Any download of the full version of this map available?

And how about b, c, d, e... Will you take the whole system under consideration? ;)

Kinda looking forward.

Hi, John, I went to download the maps and I had to send a request to view the file. I did sign into Google.

Thanks,
Tim
