Hi all,

just to inform everyone why my response in this forum was quite "thin" during last week: I spent the week in Mexico City. The reason was that I am an executive board member of a very large network (HELEN), supporting the mobility and training of young latin american scientists, working in High Energy Physics.

http://www.roma1.infn.it/exp/helen/

During the last three years, HELEN was tremendously successful. So we will be going to apply for an extension, HELEN+, for another three years at the EU in Brussels.

I returned with many new insights about Mexico and Mexico City in particular.

Cheers,
Fridger

Hey, welcome back!
... But no gossip from Mexico? Any more architecture, like that amazing hotel pic? :-)

Good to see you back!

BTW, that photo looks like it's glowing - from the Mexican heat maybe?

Thanks everyone for their welcomes! In fact, the temperature in Mexico City is rather moderate due to its high altitude of ~ 2200 meters! While I was there, it was typically 20-25 degrees Celsius at daytime and -1 (!) to 7 degrees at night. Hence in the morning it used to be still pretty chilly.

Yes, tomorrow, I am going to prepare some more commented photos in the "Celestial Matters Lounge".

Note also that all pictures are taken with my 2 Mpix mobile phone camera!

Cheers,
Fridger

Mobile phone? That explains the "glow" - hand grease all over the lens!
