Good idea, Steve. Such actions are particularly easy with Perl.

Yes, 181 and 361 are effectively identical in case of Phobos, except that I divided everything by 2.

hence 0<= i <= 90 and 0<= j <= 180 and when you map (as usual) the (i,j) matrix into a vector, you get

l = 181 * i + j,

as usual. In Perl one merely needs as a tag a "regular expression" pattern, not necessarily a real keyword, Anyway reading out the .lbl files is a breeze...

The crucial constraint is that 180/jstep = integer, which continues to hold. But the "normal" jstep value will be > 1 in case of lower resolution models. Yet, clearly, the script will need some modification, but not anything serious...

The really neat aspect of Perl for such tasks associated with text files is that you don't have to compile each time when trying things out.
