I may have posted this in the wrong place?
It was all in fun.
I seen a reference to monster files so I posted it here. Anyhow, SRTM files are 1 degree square. SRTM-3 files are 1201x1201. These files share boundaries. Overlapping. I multiplied 1200 x 360 and came up with 432000. 1200x180 is 216000. Multiply the 2 together and I get 93,312,000,000 pixels. That needs to be multiplied by 2 for 16 bit file. How many GB is that?
Oh. Got no intention at this time to actually create a file that big.
PS. With the old forum, the funny faces used to always get added to the last character of the text. Cut and paste to where I wanted them. Another good job on the new forum.
But to just keep this in context, I've used multiple cloud layers in the past to do an end. I'm not sure how one would simulate the Red Spot though or all other storms on Jupiter ? They would have to be fixed circulations.
