new thread for this one
i am uploading to my Google drive the 64K 32 bit isis cub file
in 4 parts ( NW,SW,NE,SE )
histogram matched to the 2006 radiance calibrated
"F16_20051128_20061224.cloud2.light1.marginal0.fg_15_35_55.full_swath.line_screened.shiftx2y2.op_blended.avg_vis.tif"
--- Black and white image !!! ---

some shots in "Qview" ( qview normalizes and converts to 8 bit for viewing so ...)
Image Image Image

---- the g-drive link
all 4 add up to 1.3 gig ZIPPED !!!!
running "automos" on the mapped cubes will make a 8 gig 64K 32 bit floating point image

do to how compression works the North East quad is the largest and the South west is the smallest
the below link is no longer working
those that need it have it

Indeed! A big step forward from the left picture above to the one on the right.

considering that the old data is 8 bit , and the new data is 32 bit .........

this is a bit new on NOAA
http://ngdc.noaa.gov/eog/viirs/download_ut_mos.html
nightly mosaics but they are 8 bit images :wall: :wall: :wall:

Nice maps John. Is there a lookup table somewhere to convert the count values in these maps (cub and ppm files) into radiance? I see you mentioned these are radiance calibrated.

The USGS / NOAA moved pages and files

the 32 bit VIIRS data used has moved ? someplace

http://maps.ngdc.noaa.gov/viewers/dmsp_gcv4/
the mapserver page has this folder

http://mapserver.ngdc.noaa.gov/viirs/

the updates are here
http://mapserver.ngdc.noaa.gov/viirs/cspp
http://mapserver.ngdc.noaa.gov/viirs/cs ... /geotiffs/
like "d20150301_t0620483_e0630452_b17307"
Image
they are a mix of clouded and cloud-free

but the data is VERY noisy
and the servers can be VERY SLOW ( dial up speed )

the links i posted in the first post i left in isis cub format after histogram matching
they are B&W and of limited use
those that CAN use them ,already know how to convert them to other formats
( isis3 or gdal )

the colorized are in ppm format
these open FAST in most editors
