Reminder of the naming convention of the different elements of the Apollo mission:

CSM: Command and Service Module
CM: Command Module
SM: Service Module
LEM: Lunar Excursion Module
AS: Ascent Stage (of the LEM)
DS: Decent Stage (of the LEM)
SLA: Spacecraft-LEM-Adapter

Reminder of the what we would like to see in this addon:

- Separation of CSM from 3rd stage of the Saturn V*,
- Opening of the SLA,
- 180° pitch of CSM,
- Extraction of LEM (the 3rd stage stay in orbit or burn in atmosphere?),
- Flight to moon orbit,
- Separation CSM/LEM,
- LEM touch down,
- Take of of the AS (the DS stay on ground),
- AS docking with CSM,
- Separation AS/CSM (the AS crash on the moon)
- CSM flight back to Earth,
- Separation CM/SM (the SM stay in orbit? crash into atmosphere?)

Chris ... you guys are killing me! Good Grief! Pretty soon my wife will divorce me ... I will wind up living in a mountain cabin with my computer, a stale beer and some old mutt dog, because I neglected everything else except Celestia.

Your add-on is so good it needs to be seen by EVERYONE with an interest in space when it is done. With your approval, I for one would be honored to write a complete educational journey focusing solely on the launch and landing on the moon of Apollo 11. My educational activities have been downloaded thousands of times and are in use in lots of schools now around the world, so your work has the potential to be seen by thousands of teenagers and potentially ... college kids all over the world.

I presume the add-on will be controlled by an elaborate script, with things closely timed. Is that your intent? I know virtually nothing about script commands but I offer you my services to help write the narrative to accompany that script, if that would be OK with you!

Thank you rthorvald, but we already saw it.
Our prolem is not a ground based image of the landing site, but from the space.

Ok, this is not really my part, but as Linuxm@n seems to be busy, I'll inform a bit here about the avancement of the addon.
Both Linuxm@n and Gilles are still working on the ssc; for now we do have a preliminary test for the extraction of the LEM under 1.4.1 with an offset of ~50,5s under 1.5; it works pretty well, and it's a pleasure to see the models in action!
We will need to do several animations of antennas to avoid collisions what will make the sccs a bit more complicated. Also apparently both decide to not use reference frames so seems this is also a point which will add extra complexity to sscs...

A few picts during this test; note than you won't see such config in the final release because the 4 panels of the SLA must be ejected. Also le LEM here is a bit too small...
